According to recent reports from various tech sites, Apple plans to launch a slightly thicker iPad in March and to introduce a re-designed iPhone at some point next summer.
iLounge cites their “most reliable source” that shares some details on what’s to come in 2012 from Apple.
The insider says that the next iPad will be approximately 0.7 mm thicker than the iPad 2 due to the need to incorporate a dual light bar system for the higher-resolution display and that it is planned to be launched in March.
That would make the iPad 3 approximately 8% thicker than the previous model.
As for the iPhone 5, the device will be getting an increase in size to a 4″ screen, making it 8mm longer than the current model.
It is also said to be equipped with a metal case and it is currently in the engineering phase, not early production.
They also say the iPhone 5 will likely be released next summer.
Finally, iLounge claims that a thinner MacBook Pro was coming in 2012, offering no further details on this matter.
