Walmart recently announced that it would sell Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 starting this month without a contract.

Beginning January 11th, the iPhone 5 can be purchased alongside $45-per-month unlimited service from Straight Talk Wireless.

The retailer offers the 16GB version of the iPhone 5, as well as the 8GB version of the iPhone 4 for users to choose, priced at $ 649 and $ 449, respectively.

However, Leslie Meredith of TechNewsDaily notes that the plan has restriction.

The Walmart Straight Talk plan has a soft data cap of 2 GB and after the limit is reached, the throughput is throttled, making downloads slow.

Nonetheless, for those who don’t need to use more than 2 GB of data, the Straight Talk plan should be a good choice.
