iPhone 5 release date prompts Google, Microsoft and Amazon to open for Apple

As the release of the next-generation iPhone nears, other major companies are also gearing up for their own launch events.

The iPhone 5 is rumored to be prepared for a September 12 release, with a launch on the market following nine days later.

At the same time, on August 15, Microsoft announced its Windows 8 event for September 5 in New York City, 9to5mac reports.

Two days later, on August 17, Google subsidiary Motorola sent out invites for what is believed to be Droid RAZR HD.

The event is scheduled for the same day of September 5 in New York City.

A couple of days ago, it was reported that Amazon had planned an event in L.A.

Market watchers believe this is when the new Kindle Fire 2 will be introduced.
