iPhone 5 release date rumors confirmed as September 12 event is announced by Apple

Apple’s next flagship device will reportedly be introduced next Wednesday.

The Loop reports that invitations for a media event set to take place on September 12 have been sent out by Apple.

The event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and will begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern.

The invitations read “It’s almost here.” A large number 12 can be seen and a shadow cast with a number “5,” suggesting the release of the next iPhone.

Rumors of a September 12 live keynote to be held by Apple first appeared in July. Reports have stated that the smartphone will be released on the market nine days later.

Reports of leaked components have constantly surfaced on the net lately, suggesting the device will feature a larger 4-inch screen, a smaller dock connector, 4G LTE capabilities and others.
