iPhone 5 release date rumors generate big smartphone trade-in on eBay

Now eBay says that this activity has caused a rise in the number of iPhones on sale.

They say that in recent days over 100,000 smartphones were offered for trade-in, 70% higher than usual.

According to CNET, of all the devices offered for trade-in, the 16GB model of the iPhone 4S is at the top of the list, followed by the 8GB iPhone 4 and 32GB iPhone 4S.

Compared to last year, when between October 4 and 6 375,000 trade-in offers for smartphones appeared on the website. This means that the world is preparing for the launch of the new device.

Ahead of an important launch, users start selling their old devices in order to purchase the new one.

Given that thousands of offers have appeared on eBay a month and a half before the rumored iPhone 5 release, we can expect their number to reach several hundred thousands on important auction sites in the US.
