As rumors are rife regarding a possible June launch for Apple’s next-gen iPhone, InRumor has compiled a recap of all the speculation on the highly-anticipated release date of the device.

In January, a Foxconn employee cited by 9to5Mac claimed that a handful of sample devices for the next iPhone are “floating around,” and based on Apple’s previous production scheduling, experts wrote about a summer release date.

Last month, the Morning Life Post reported that Foxconn Technology Group received orders for about 57 million units of iPhone 5 a year and that the company has an urgent need for 20,000 workers for its plant in Taiyuan in the Shanxi Province. The report stated that the plant will be responsible for 85 per cent of the manufacturing of the next iPhone.

In addition, a Foxconn recruiter in Taiyuan, China, revealed this week that the iPhone 5 will be marketed in the month of June.

“We’re looking for 18,000 employees…for the fifth-generation phone,” a Foxconn recruiter told a reporter from TV Tokyo’s “World Business Satellite” (WBS) show, as cited by AppleInsider.

“Is that because demand is high for the ‘iPhone 5?’” she asked.

“That’s right. It will come out in June.”

In support of the summer release date, a report coming from Daiwa Securities, an Asian financial services firm, provided a screenshot of the leaked calendar from San Francisco’s Moscone Center, hinting that the event could take place between June 10 and June 15, thus narrowing down the dates of a possible iPhone 5 launch.

Recently, Reuters reported that a source cited by South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper stated that the iPhone 5 will be available in Q2 of 2012, meaning somewhere around summer.

However, recent reports have also claimed that the iPhone 5 could be released on October 5, 2012, to commemorate Steve Jobs’ death. The late Apple CEO was closely involved with the iPhone 5 in the last days of his life and followed all the steps of the production.

In February, Japanese blog Macotakara cited a “reliable source” that said the iPhone 5 is heading for release in September or October 2012.

“According to Asian reliable source, next iPhone will be released in September or October, and this cycle seems to be kept for years,” the report said.

In addition, MacRumors reported that it heard from a representative of a supplier known to provide parts for the iPhone that Apple is working on a launch of new hardware in September.

A couple of weeks ago, an iMore report stated that the iPhone 5 will feature a micro-dock connector, 4G LTE and 3.5-inch screen and that the device is schedule to be released in the fall, although recent reports claimed the handset would hit the market in Q2 of 2012.

Also, Texas Instruments, a supplier for Apple that provides particular components for the iPhone 4S and the new iPad, is rumored to have started production of a chip power management for the iPhone 5.

The rumor came from RepairLabs who also cited Chinese sources saying that the iPhone 5 would be released in September, a month earlier than last year’s October release for the iPhone 4S.
