iPhone 5 release: new iPhone chip to feature 1GB of RAM

The iPhone 5 reportedly comes with 1GB of RAM.

The enhancements brought by the new iPhone include the new A6 chip.

Based on the part numbers listed on the A6 CPU, iFans posted the first confirmation that the iPhone 5 has 1GB of RAM.

iFixit and MacRumors analyzed Samsung product guides which revealed the correct A5 chip parts.

This helped them find the corresponding numbers on the A6 chip and conclude that the new iPhone packs 1GB of RAM.

The A6 part number comes in line with the group of 8 Gigabit mobile DRAMs which translates into 1GB of RAM, according to MacRumors.
