A new rumor on the device’s smaller port connector is making the rounds.

It is almost a certainty that the next iPhone will feature a smaller port connector.

Now a 9to5mac report claims that they have discovered a possible reference to a 9-pin dock connector in the iOS 6 beta.

The site writes that they found evidence Apple is testing devices with a 9-pin dock connector.

This information is present in the iOS 6 since the beta 1 version and it is the only unofficial confirmation that the iPhone 5 will have a different port connector.

If the rumors prove true, updated version of the iOS devices are expected to arrive in the fall.
