New reports fuel rumors that Apple’s sixth-generation iPhone will be thinner.
Chinese newspaper Apple Daily reports that the next iPhone will measure just 7.6 mm thick, which makes it 18 % thinner than the 9.3 mm iPhone 4S.
Apple.pro has posted scans from the Chinese publication that managed to obtain what is claimed to be one of the iPhone 5 enclosures.
A manufacturer told Apple Daily that he was confident that the leaked photos were real and that he was already planning to make cases for the 7.6mm thick iPhone 5.
He noticed three big changes between the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5:
1. The phone is much bigger, measuring 58.47 mm wide, 123.83 mm high and 7.6 mm thick. The screen is 4-inches.
2. The earphone jack has been relocated to the bottom of the phone.
3. The dock connector is much smaller, similar in size to micro USB.
The iPhone 5 has been rumored to sport a thinner design, as well as an elongated 4-inch screen.
