Apple has reportedly rejected the new version of the app.

A new version of the app, which included iPhone 5 optimization, was recently submitted by Sparrow’s developers to Apple to be released in the App Store.

However, Sparrow developer Dinh Viet Hoa announced on Twitter that Apple has rejected the update.

The team must now submit a new version to avoid having the app being pulled from the App Store entirely.

“Apple called to tell me that Sparrow has been rejected. Our app will be removed from the appstore if we don’t submit a new version soon,” Viet Hoa wrote on Twitter.

Apple’s rejection stems from the app’s implementation of Rich Text format.

“We managed to get a rich text edition [and] the keyboard appeared without the user [having] to tap on ios5. We’re fighting with apple to get the update of the app through the AppStore validation process,” Viet Hoa explained.
