The head of France Telecom – Orange, Stéphane Richard, recently mentioned the upcoming release of the highly anticipated new smartphone from Apple.
“If we believe what we have been told, the iPhone 5 will be released on 15 October,” he told a small group of French reporters Friday.
“If the date is confirmed, it will definitely be in France Telecom stores,” he added, concluding with a mysterious, “We shall see.”
This isn’t the first time Richard slips info about Apple’s soon-to-come gadgets. It was him who said that the iPad 2 would be available at the end of January 2011, nearly a year before its release.
As for the appearance of the new iPhone 5, the New York Times reported this week that the iPhone 5 will have a faster A5, dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera instead of a 5-megapixel one.
