Yahoo’s yearly review report on the most searched terms of 2012 revealed that the iPhone 5 was the second most searched term, after the “elections.”

Following the iPhone 5 as the most searched for devices in 2012 were the iPad and the iPad mini.

Completing the top were Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Upton, Kate Middleton and Whitney Houston.

The handset also occupied the No. 1 spot on Yahoo’s list of the top ten “obsessions” of the year.

The iPhone 5 also topped the Bing’s traditional year-end ranking of the most popular searches, followed by the 2012 elections and the 2012 Olympics.
