iPhone 5 vs. Volkswagen – multimedia system

If you own a car that has a USB port or a system that allows connecting mobile devices, then you are probably interested to know if an iPhone 5 can connect to them.

The guys at CNET checked the compatibility of the handset and its new Lightning port with some car models and came to the conclusion that problems may sometimes appear.

With Chevrolet or Nissan cars the connection can be made ​​without problems using the USB port and the Lightning cable.

But in the case of some Volkswagen models the iPhone 5 is not recognized by the system.

If the car reads the information from the iPhone via Bluetooth, you won’t have problems in using the device, but it all depends on the car and its equipment.
