Reports say that Apple will launch an iPhone 5 with an aluminum rear panel and rubber bezel in the fall of 2012.
BGR claims that sources close to Apple are saying that the next-generation iPhone will “use a rubber or plastic material — similar to the material used in the company’s bumper cases — that will be built into the new iPhone case.”
In addition, the rear panel is said to be made from aluminum. The site speculates that the new materials will help join the front glass and the aluminum back.
This will help cover a redesigned antenna system that surrounds the device. This way, the company won’t have to use a large plastic insert above the antennas as is the case on the iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G.
The iPhone 5 is also expected to feature a 4-inch display with the same resolution and a aster processor.
