Walmart announced that it will officially begin to sell Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 starting this month without a contract.
According to AppleInsider, beginning January 11th, the iPhone 5 can be purchased alongside $45-per-month unlimited service from Straight Talk Wireless.
The retailer will only offer the 16GB version of the iPhone 5, as well as 8GB version of the iPhone 4 for users to choose, priced at $ 649 and $ 449, respectively.
“We believe customers shouldn’t have to choose between saving money and having the latest technology,” said Seong Ohm, senior vice president of entertainment for Walmart. “Now customers can have the coveted iPhone with unlimited talk, text and data without a contract for $70 a month thanks to our exclusive Straight Talk plan and industry first financing offer.”
To participate in the program, the customer must have a Walmart credit card to pay the monthly installments of $ 25 plus the $ 45 package.
Besides the $ 45 package plan, Straight Talk plans also provide an additional $ 60 option that provides users in over 100 countries and regions (such as Mexico, Canada, India, etc.), with unlimited international calling.
The Straight Talk plan will be introduced on Friday in the nation’s more than 2000 Walmart retail stores, as well as at the company’s online store.
