The iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, low-cost model, there is something for everyone each week.

A cheaper iPhone aimed at emerging markets has been one of the most debated issues in recent months.

Jeremy Horwitz from iLounge wrote that the low-cost iPhone will be released in 2013 and posted leaked pictures of a device that seemed to sport a 4-inch screen.

Earlier this month, Digitimes claimed that Apple may launch a low-cost version of the smartphone in the second half of 2013.

On the same subject Digitimes cited sources claiming that the cheaper iPhone’s case will be made of plastic instead of metal or glass to in order to reduce costs.

Adding to the rumors of a cheaper iPhone was a Bloomberg report stating that the device could be priced between $99 and $149.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster believes that a low-cost model would get Apple 65% of the smartphone market, which represents 580 million potential customers.

Leaked images of what was claimed to be parts of Apple’s future iPhone models have been published by French site, with an image of the loudspeaker from the iPhone 5 is super-imposed at the top of the image.

The same site also posted the first possible images of a prototype of the iPhone 5S’s external case that were leaked over at

Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White speculated that the next iPhone would be available in 6-8 colors, just like the current version of the iPod Touch.

Media reports have also stated that the next-generation iPhone will feature a dual LED flash and that the two LED flashes will come in different colors.

There will be one regular LED and one with a slight blue tint, with the purpose of improving the white balance when taking pictures with the iPhone.

Other rumors suggest that Apple is planning to launch a smartphone with a bigger screen than the current model.

Also regarding the screen of the device, China Times reported that Apple is collaborating with Innolux on developing a new display technology that will be used in the next-generation iPhone.

The touch-on-display technology of Innolux boasts a higher sensitivity compared to other methods as it doesn’t sacrifice the thickness or strength of the screen.

Another Asian publication, Digitimes reported that there will be two separate iPhones planned for 2013, both featuring a 4-inch display.

Sources cited by the site indicate that while Apple is indeed working on an iPhone with a larger display, this year such a device will not be launched.

Instead, two Apple smartphones will be released in 2013, one of which will be designed for China and other emerging markets.

Russian site Apple Digger came up with a mockup of the handset with a 4.8-inch display and a 12 MP back camera.

Interestingly, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek claimed Apple has already tested a few iPhone 6 prototypes, including one with 4.8-inch display.

An interesting concept of the iPhone 6 with see-through display was presented in a commercial made by 18-year-old Oklahoman Dakota Adney.

Release date rumors about the iPhone 5S point to a 2013 launch.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that an iPhone 5S could be released in June or July and expects the next iPhone not to differ too much from the current model.

Kuo also launched the “rumor” that the iPhone 5S could come with a fingerprint sensor based on the fact that Apple bought AuthenTec, a company specializing in fingerprint sensors, in July 2012.

With the use of this technology, Apple could propose an elegant and efficient way to replace the traditional use of usernames and passwords.
