According to the latest rumors, the iPhone 6 could emerge very soon after the release of the iPhone 5S.

The most talked-about rumor is the one regarding the 4.8-inch display.

Last month Jefferies analyst Peter Misek reported that Apple was testing a few iPhone 6 prototypes, including one with 4.8-inch display.

Based on inputs from Apple suppliers, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek also speculated that the iPhone 6 will have a larger screen of 4.8 inches.

In addition, the first Apple rumor for 2013 stated that developers found traces of what could be the next iPhone 6 and its new iOS 7 in their usage logs, which shows that Apple is already working on its future products.

An analysis based on the comments by former Apple CEO John Sculley, about the acceleration of the production cycle of the Californian company, concluded that the next iPhone may arrive in early 2013.

Sculley suggested that the company is “going through a very significant change now in terms of product cycles,” and that “now it’s really introducing products twice a year,” sparking speculation about an iPhone 6 release in 2013.

Reports that Intel may be in talks with Apple to produce chipsets for the next iPhone and iPad also surfaced.

RBC analyst Doug Freedman believes that if Intel would build Apple’s ARM-based chips for smartphones, Apple would use Intel’s X86 processors in upcoming devices.

A new Apple patent application was published by the US Patent and Trademark Office in early December.

The document detailed the integration of hidden audio sensors into the displays of upcoming devices, sparking rumors that it could become a characteristic of the iPhone 6.

Another innovative new feature that could be integrated into the next iPhone are flexible displays.

UK’s Macworld found a hint about this possibility in the company’s patent for ‘Electronic Devices With Flexible Displays’.

The report stated that recent developments in the field of technology make the idea of a flexible display become reality.

Apple is rumored to be pondering the possibility of equipping the next-generation iPhone, iPad and iPad mini with Sharp’s IGZO displays.

DigiTimes reported that Apple wants the future iPad, iPad mini and iPhone to come with IGZO displays produced by Sharp.

Another Asian publication, The China Times, has reported that Apple is collaborating with Innolux on developing a new display technology that will be used in the next-generation iPhone.

Other reports speculated that the iPhone 6 will have a dual LED flash and the two LED flashes will have different colors, GSM Arena reported in December.

Finally, iPhone 6 concept appeared online.

Another concept of what the new iPhone could look like was imagined by Federico Ciccarese of ciccaresedesign.

Ciccarese created an iPhone 6 that is very similar to the seventh generation iPod Nano, but also the Nokia Lumia 920.
