The 28-year-old Facebook founder announced the good news by adding an event in his “timeline”, the new version of “profiles” for users: his marriage.

The wedding ceremony took place in the privacy in Palo Alto, California.

Zuckerberg himself had designed Priscilla Chan’s wedding ring, a ruby diamond.

The couple had decided to get married four months ago and the guests were surprised because they initially believed that the party was in honor of Chan’s recent graduation in medicine, People reports.

Guests were treated to Burdick Chocolate “mice” – whimsical chocolate treats in the shape of mice – for the desert as that was what the couple had on their first date.
