McLaren and TAG Heuer launch limited edition watch
To celebrate one of the most enduring partnerships in the world of Formula 1, McLaren and the Swiss at TAG Heuer launched a watch collection, which will be produced in limited edition.
McLaren and TAG Heuer are currently enjoying the longest partnership in Formula 1. Beginning in 1985, the collaboration between the two brands recently celebrated 26 years of existence, a good reason to celebrate. Of course, such an event had to be celebrated with a watch collection, launched at the exhibition organized by TAG Heuer in Geneva.
The creation of the Swiss manufacturer bears the name of the newest McLaren model, the MP4-12C supercar, and at the same time tries to get close to the colors, materials and design of the British model. The Swiss’ chronograph uses a carbon fiber indicator, a material inspired by the supercar’s chassis, a true innovation in the world of street cars, taken from Formula 1.
The clock’s mechanism is partially revealed by the cut background, suggesting the transparency of the technology. The watch has a chronograph that can be simply operated but also a tachometer. The clock’s mechanism is locked in a titanium shell, which significantly reduces the overall weight and the grip is made with an Alcantara leather belt. The latter has orange hue seams that recall the tradition of sporting models developed by McLaren.
The new TAG Heuer watch MP4012C Cronograph will be produced in a limited edition of only 1,000 copies, and it will be sold by McLaren dealers.
