Microsoft rumored to be working on Windows 8 tablet

The company is reportedly looking to compete with Apple by producing its own tablet.

Microsoft plans to announce the tablet at a Los Angeles event next week.

But according to The Wrap and AllThingsD, the tech giant is actually looking to stay competitive on the market.

The Wrap writes that a “Microsoft-manufactured tablet” would “put the company in direct competition with giant rival Apple.”

CNET notes that the Cupertino tech giant has managed to stay on top by designing both the software and hardware of its porducts, which has often placed them a step ahead of Microsoft.
