Microsoft is reportedly getting ready to introduce a 7-inch tablet.
Citing unnamed sources “familiar with plans within Redmond,” The Verge reports that the device will feature a 7-inch 1280 x 720 multitouch display, an ARM processor and high-bandwidth RAM designed specifically for gaming.
Other specs included, WiFi and 5GB of speedy memory.
The Xbox Surface will run a “custom Windows kernel,” that also supports messaging and apps.
The site writes that the console will be built in mass quantities by manufacturers like Pegatron and Foxconn.
However, the device will be made by the same secret hardware production process used for the Surface tablet.
A Microsoft representative declined to comment on rumors or speculation.
