New refreshed iPad to be announced at Apple October 23 media event

Apple will reportedly announce a refreshed version of its 9.7-inch iPad at its media event next week.

According to sources cited by 9to5Mac, the new version of the iPad will come at the same price of $499, $599, and $699 for the WiFi versions, while the LTE models will retain the current $629, $729, and $829 pricing.

The refreshed version is rumored to adopt Apple’s new Lightning connector, besides other enhancements.

According to a recent report from The Guardian, this new iPad version may come with global LTE support, similar to the iPhone 5.

Other internal components such as the processor, screen, battery, etc. could be upgraded at the event.

The iPad Mini, a 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro, updated iMacs and updated Mac minis are also rumored to be presented at the October 23rd Apple media event.
