Sony is reportedly considering changing the structure of its future PlayStation to face competition.
The Edge took the opportunity to release some information leaked from developers.
The report indicates that the PS4 will be sold with a redesigned joystick, the same size as the current Dualshock controllers.
However, it will incorporate a small touchpad instead of the existing Select, Start and PS buttons.
The site writes that this screen would use the same technology as PlayStation Vita’s rear touchpad and should be as responsive.
The next home console from Sony will be announced on February 20th.
The console will reportedly also feature a new Share button on the joystick. It will activate a function of online sharing of screenshots or video because the PS4 will record continuously the last fifteen minutes of play without causing slowdown in the running games.
The PlayStation 4 will be launched in Japan and the United States for the holiday season and it will arrive in early 2014 in Europe.
