Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display will be priced at $500, which is more than the current non-Retina 13-inch model.

9to5Mac reports that the notebook will start at a price of $1,699 when it arrives in stores next week.

That makes it $500 less than the entry-level version of the 15-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro and $500 more than the entry-level 13-inch on the non-Retina side.

The rumored Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro is expected to arrive this fall.

CNET writes that a smaller model is expected to be presented by Apple at the anticipated October 23 media event, where the iPad mini, a refreshed Mac Mini and iMac desktops are also rumored to be unveiled.
