The device is expected to be launched at an unpacked event set for August 29 in Berlin.
According to Reuters, the event is being held at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin later this month.
“We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29,” a Samsung spokesman told the publication Friday.
In terms of specs, the new Note will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch display, slightly larger than its predecessor.
Besides impressive 1680×1050 resolution, the handset is also rumored to be equipped with a faster 1.6GHz quad-core processor and better camera.
Samsung’s first Galaxy Note was officially released in late October 2011 and was dubbed a “phablet,” or phone-tablet. However, the device has proven successful with consumers.
The South Korean firm is reportedly trying to stay competitive on the market, ahead of the launch of Apple’s sixth-generation iPhone.
