Samsung’s next-generation smartphone will reportedly be equipped with a quad-core Exynos processor, which would incorporate LTE connectivity.
According to an unnamed Samsung executive cited by the Korea Times, the Galaxy S III will runn on a next-generation Exynos CPU.
The same exec also mentioned that the chip will offer LTE support.
“Samsung has a stronger intent to lower its dependence on Qualcomm and our technicians believe that we have made significant progress in producing logic-based chips for high-end devices, combined logic and memory chips for graphic controllers and core communication chips for Internet-enabled consumer devices,” the unnamed Samsung exec said.
The insider also add that the company is looking to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm and go with its own solutions.
The rumor is unconfirmed as Samsung has yet to comment.
According to various rumors circulating on the web, the Galaxy S3 might feature a 4.8 inch display, a digital 12 megapixels camera and an impressive 2GB of RAM.
A recent report from The Verge stated that Samsung announced the release of the Galaxy S III in the first half to the year.
