Siri, Apple, Mac listed as baby names in 2012

The rise in popularity of names such as Mac or Apple occurred only in the last year.

In 2012, the number of babies baptized with the name “Apple”, “Mac” and “Siri” increased, according to a global survey conducted by the website BabyCenter.

The company analyzed names of 450,000 babies born in 2012, recorded by their mothers on the site.

According to the survey, the name “Apple,” for girls, increased by 15% in 2012, while the name “Mac,” for boys, rose 12%.

The name “Siri”, which refers to the Apple’s voice assistant for phones and tablets, is up 5% on the list of girls’ names.
