A few days ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that the iPhone 5 will be released in mid-October by Sprint.

Following this little slip, Sprint passed a note to all its vendors and resellers, asking them to stay silent in the face of customers who pose questions about the possible availability of the iPhone 5.

The memo instructs workers not to “speculate about Sprint getting the iPhone.” If asked, employees should respond somewhere in the lines of “Yes, I saw a few of those reports, [but] I don’t have any information to share,” according to the memo.

Judging by their reaction, some assume that the iPhone 5 will be included in Sprint’s catalog in October.
