2011 should indeed be the year of the iPad 2. DigiTimes shows that it is highly unlikely that Cupertino has the idea of launching a third generation of tablets by fall.
However, Apple has reportedly revealed its projects and asked its subcontractors specializing in touchscreens to provide products that support a better picture quality than the iPad 2.
The rumors say that Apple has set its sights on AMOLED displays, or screens displays supporting 1080p resolution. But the result of all this won’t be unveiled this year.
However, if a new iPad was to hit the market in 2011, then it will be a small update, maybe a version embedding “a different standard of communication.”
