One of the most significant innovations of Apple’s latest tablet is the incorporation of Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Ready low energy technology.

As a Smart Ready device and Smart Ready Hub, the tablet will offer users the possibility to use all the current Bluetooth devices on the market.

Thanks to its 128-bit AES encryption, a Bluetooth Smart device ensures a secure connection, as well as very low power consumption.

According to the Bluetooth SIG, with the new Bluetooth Smart keyboards users will be able to keep the batteries inside of them for the entire life of the iPad.

In addition, the range of connectivity is increased as these devices can communicate with each other up to 200 feet.

In addition to keyboards and remote controls, which are the usual applications of Bluetooth 4.0, a constantly developing line of fitness equipment is likely to use the technology.

Using Bluetooth Smart, the tablet can connect to a wider range of accessories and ensures an improved compatibility and functionality.
