The famous fashion designer Ralph Lauren is coming to Paris along with his impressive car collection. A selection of the most prestigious sports cars from 1930 until today will be open to the European public for the first time at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris between April 28 and 28 August.

The 17 models were chosen by director Rodolphe Rapetti to better reflect the European automotive history. Through this exhibition, Ralph Lauren shows us that the car is art in its most developed form, taken to the extreme by industry’s biggest names. Visitors at the exhibition in Paris will see a series of cars with an impressive history.

Blower Bentley is a model manufactured in 1929 and designed by WO Bentley. Its name comes from the compressor fixed by Sir Hilary Birkin. Bentley Bowler was created with the purpose of winning competitions and, at the same time, it was a car chosen by Ian Fleming in the first parts of the James Bond 007 book.

Another model that will definitely be admired is the Mercedes-Benz SSK Count Trossi. Mercedes SSK models are the archetype of the 1920s models by the Suttgart constructor, and this version bears the name of the Italian aristocrat and pilot Count Carlo Felice Trossi.

Another model with a history that will be present in Paris is Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe. The model was produced in four copies, and today only two of them can be admired.

Also under the “protection” of Ralph Lauren a Ferrari 375 Plus designed by Giovanni Battista Pininfarina in the ’50s can be found. Jaguar XKD is the fastest car of those years and managed to win three times at the 24-Hour Race in Le Mans and a victory in the Nurburgring 24-Hour Race in 1956.

Also in the collection, visitors can admire models Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe and Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. The latter bears the signature of Sergio Scaglietti, one of the most talented bodybuilders at Ferrari. Testa Rossa’s name comes from the red color of the camshaft cover.

This is one of the largest collections in the world, particularly representative of the evolution of cars in the past 100 years. The collection is not only a juxtaposition of expensive models, but the selection of brands and models shows the owner’s tasteful choices.

The photo session by Todd Eberle is entitled “Inside Ralph Lauren’s garage,” and it’s really more like a museum than a conventional garage. The presentation of vehicles is particularly simple and elegant. The floor is covered with a black carpet and each vehicle has its own white platform in order to better highlight the model and its condition.

The collection includes many Ferraris, such as a 1958 Testa Rossa, a significant number of Mercedes including several 300SL and a 1930 SSK. There are also two Alfas: a Monza and a 1939 spyder Mille Milia, as well as two Bugatti: a 59 type and a 1934 57SC Atlantic Coupe. A Jaguar XKSS, a Morgan +4 and a 1929 Bentley Tourer can be admired in Luren’s collection.

The new British model is the smallest, lightest and most environmental Land Rover car created so far, and will be launched on the market with the anniversary of 40 years of the company.

Lotus

Lotus will be among the stars of the Parisian Motor Show, their stand will host the Esprit supercar concept. Besides that it is possible to see a GT roadster and two concepts.

Mercedes

Mercedes will present in Paris the new CL facelift and also the new CLS. The new CL-Class comes with a front look more aggressive and with a new propellant. Twin-turbo V8 unit produces 429 hp and develops a torque of 699 Nm.

Mini

The British manufacturer’s stand will host the new Mini facelift. The first information and pictures were presented in June, but its changes are minor, both externally and internally.

Opel

The tenth generation of the Opel Astra has received a release for a family, and the Paris Motor Show is the perfect place to display it. For the first time, Astra’s station wagon version drop its Caravan denominations for the name Sports Tourer.

Peugeot

Suzuki from Japan will be accompanied at the Porte de Versailles, by the new generation of urban model Swift. The third generation of the Swift comes with a design slightly retouched with new, somewhat larger sized engines.

Volvo

If Geneva was introduced to the Volvo S60, Paris will see the V60. The wagon version of its S60 received the title of Sports Wagon to emphasize the sport allure.

Currently, the W16 of 8-liter engine is capable of delivering 1001 horsepower, but there were rumors about the untapped potential of the unity.

Subsidiary Volkswagen unveiled a new version of the 16C Galibier model, the brother of the four seat Veyron. The event revealed a Galibier painted black, much more sober than the original one, bicolor.
