Shakira: No ring theft

The thief alert is lifted. A video showing an extract from the concert Shakira held on April 7 in Monterrey, Mexico, caused the buzz. While she was descending from the stage to greet her fans massed along the fences, the star appeared to have been the victim of a robbery.

The images showed Shakira withdrawing her hand quickly after shaking that of a fan. The singer seemed to look fixedly at her fingers, as if something was missing, a ring in this case according to the information reported.

By carefully observing the video images, it was found that Shakira still had the piece of jewelry. The singer only had the impression that the fan had stolen something.

Shakira’s publicist, Joseph Carozza, told TMZ, “There is no truth to this report. A fan grabbed her hand and she looked down. Her ring is still visible on her hand as she continued to walk through the crowd.”

The video of the incident shows Shakira’s reaction of confusion after she realizes that her ring was stolen.

By the time this information was published, the value of the ring and where the guards were at the time of the theft were not disclosed.

Hammond apologizes to the Mexicans, but defends Top Gear

After being criticized for slanderous accusations about the Mexican people and their culture, Richard Hammond, the youngest from the famous Top Gear trio, has come with a number of explanations. During a show broadcast in late January, Hammond described the Mexican people as “a lazy, feckless, flatulent oaf with a moustache, leaning against a fence asleep, looking at a cactus, with a blanket with a hole in the middle as a coat.”

Today, the British moderator acknowledged the mistake, but defended the show in which they operate. “One of the reasons Top Gear works is because we are three fairly ordinary blokes. You can identify with one or the other of us, be it age, height, presentation or manner… and one of the traits we bring together as a team is a certain outspoken quality.”

Hammond continued: “We love doing what we do and we work very hard at it. We’re very proud that it appeals to a broad bunch of people, and hopefully we will stay in that position. We’re still making the show as well as we can. We didn’t set out to make Top Gear to be famous, or for it to be huge even – we set out to make the best show we could and that’s not just us three on it, but also everybody else behind the scenes. ‘That’s what we are about and that is what we try to do. We’ll continue to do that for as long as it’s on. We want to make it as good as possible, because that is our job.”

On his Facebook page, Hammond explained the incident: “I was talking about the cartoon characters in western movies we all watched as kids and I am really sorry if I’ve offended anyone. ‘Yes, we were stereotyping on Top Gear and yes, that can go wrong – as it rather has – but it can also be quite funny and that’s what we were hoping to do.”

According to the couple’s friends the party would be a baby shower. The rumors are fueled by the fact that after the wedding the guests were invited to see a “room specifically intended to be a nursery”.

“Ayda’s worked on everything from layouts to color schemes. It’s so strange to have a party so soon after the wedding” said a source told British newspaper The Sun.
On the other hand, more details about the wedding are known. For example, there was no alcohol but only “cups of tea, perfectly cut sandwiches and of course, lots of cakes.”

Rumors say that Ayda’s engagement ring cost $250,000 and that Robbie held a speech at the wedding reception.

“His speech was really sweet and no one was expecting Robbie to well up. After that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house,” said one guest. “Robbie said the loveliest things about Ayda and how gorgeous she looked in that gown.”

The newly weds are now set to go in Mexico for their honeymoon.

Moreover, the singer couldn’t appear on last years’ ceremony due to the fact that ex boyfriend, Chris Brown assaulted her the night before the show.

Consequently, Brown pleaded guilty to felony and now he’s due to five years of probation.
