The officials decided that Mark David Chapman, the man who shot and killed John Lennon in 1980 will remain behind bars for at least another couple of years.
The New York State Division of Parole informed 55-year-old Chapman that they had concerns “about the disregard [he] displayed for the norms of our society and the sanctity of human life.”
A rep for Yoko Ono said she is “very pleased with the result”.
Chapman, who gunned down the “Beatles” icon outside Lennon’s NYC apartment 30 years ago, won’t have another shot at freedom until August 2012 – when he will become eligible for another parole review.
The actress, 77, will appear on “Glee” in October or November. According to Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, Jane Lynch’s character “is meaner than ever … this year she’s on a bender.”
Other good news for the “Glee” fans: there will be some feature music from Beatles alum Paul McCartney and “Britain’s Got Talent” star Susan Boyle.
The amount for which the paper with the lyrics “A Day In The Life” was awarded far exceeded initial estimates, which amounted to 700,000 dollars. The song was the last track on the album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, released in 1967 and was the soundtrack of a musical with the same title, in 1968.
The person who purchased the sheet, with erasures and cuts, written by Lennon, was an American who participated by telephone from Friday’s auction, organized by Sotheby’s in New York.
Although they have exceeded one million dollars, these lines have not yet managed to become the most expensive ever sold by Beatles in an auction, given that in 2005, handwritten lyrics to “All You Need is Love” were awarded for 1.25 million dollars.
The song “A Day In The Life” was ranked by Rolling Stone among the best 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Beatles, composed of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr was one of the most famous and successful groups in rock history, having an experience of over 1.1 billion albums sold worldwide.

Starr’s name was the 2,401st to be unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“This is the start of the next 50 years of stars,” he said outside the Capitol Records building. “I’m proud to be the first one.”
The Walk of Fame also includes individual star’s for the Beatles drummer’s former bandmates John Lennon and George Harrison, as well as the likes of musicians Roy Orbison and Ozzy Osbourne.
“It’s cool to get one at night,” said Starr. “I don’t know about you, but where I live, the stars come out at night.”
The Beatles, as a group, were also given a star in 1998.
