Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee, who is also a close friend with the actress said “Yes, it’s true, she is a fan of the show.”
Gwyneth Paltrow will “be playing a substitute teacher who Matt Morrison’s character (Will) falls for,” said Murphy. He added: “She will be doing three or four solos.”
Paltrow’s husband may also be getting some “Glee” glory. Chris Martin’s band Coldplay initially turned down “Glee,” then changed its mind, apologized and gave the Fox show access to the band’s entire catalog.
It seems that Murphy wrote a part specifically for her: “Gwyneth is a great singer. She’s done it a little bit but I really want to show it off and show everyone how great she is”.
The Oscar winning actress is set to appear in season two of the show for two episodes. Moreover, actor Javier Bardem is set to appear in Glee due to his admiration for the show.
“Let me set the record straight – I didn’t have to convince him, he begged!” “He loves the show and wants to play a crazy Spanish rock and roll singer so I’m going to do that”, also revealed Murphy.
Gwyneth’s passion for music were revealed in her previous films such as Duets, Infamous, in her performance on stage next to Jay-Z in 2006.

The actress, 77, will appear on “Glee” in October or November. According to Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, Jane Lynch’s character “is meaner than ever … this year she’s on a bender.”

“There is more than a little resemblance between Justin and Matthew Morrison… so the plan to bring Justin in for a cameo as his younger brother is a very popular idea. They are just trying to work it all out at the moment,” says a network insider.
It seems that everyone is excited about this new collaboration both fans and Glee actors.
“The cast members are very excited about the prospect of working with him – especially Lea Michele, so it has everybody’s seal of approval. They just need to work it all out now. The idea is that he will be a substitute teacher and join the glee club for a week.”
