Jennifer Lopez had no diva demands on judging American Idol

The American Idol new judge said: “After as many years as I’ve been in this business, I’m used to that kind of stuff. I’m used to speculation.”

The singer/actress revealed how she tried to calm down the Fox staff after so many negative headlines appeared about her being on the show.

“I was calming the FOX people down. I was like, ‘Listen, it’ll be gone tomorrow. Once they hear who we are and what we’re doing, it’s going to be fine. Don’t worry about it.’ I was just looking forward to getting started.”

It seems that even executive producer Nigel Lythgoe made fun of this situation by saying in a recent interview: “I said to Jennifer today, we heard that she only likes yellow M&Ms,” he said. “I’m thinking, ‘Who’s going to pick them all out for her?’ She said, ‘No, where did that come from?'”

Nevertheless, Mike Darnell, head of alternative programming on FOX revealed some details about the negotiation process they had with Lopez: “I can tell you from the Fox standpoint, the deal was not tough. There were no diva demands. It was a really easy, comfortable deal with both parties.”

Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger to judge American X Factor

“At the moment you are going to see me doing one show next year – and not one in England. I have a contract for this year and that is it,” Simon told The Sun.

“I am going to sit it out for a few more weeks before I make a final decision. And it has to be fun. The minute it stops being fun, bye bye.”

Meanwhile, X Factor will debut on Fox in early 2011 and The New York Post has announced that Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole will join the judge panel of the 2011 US singing competition.

While everyone watches – for now – on the American Idol, with Simon Cowell leading next year’s Fox show, we’re pretty sure that X factor will draw everyone’s attention.

Jennifer Lopez – $12 million American Idol judge

Other reports say the singer failed in negotiating a much more amount of money, meaning $15 million and a movie.

A source said: “She was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep the movie career going. But Fox said, ‘No’. In the old days, these were called a ‘vanity deal’ for good reason. They simply don’t exist today. Will Smith doesn’t have put pictures.”

Moreover, as sources tell, the singer seemed to agreed with the sum and signed a contract that stipulates a $12 million annually.

“I think it was just positioning. In the end, she didn’t turn up her nose up at $12 million. I would have been very surprised if she had walked away… She lives very, very well. It comes at a cost.”

Lindsay Lohan has new rules from judge Elden Fox

Lindsay Lohan

During this morning’s court hearing, Judge Fox imposed the following ground rules for Lindsay’s probation:

  • Reside at home until Nov. 1
  • Random drug and alcohol testing twice a week
  • Participate in psychotherapy a minimum of 4 days a week
  • Attend behavior therapy sessions 2 times a week
  • Attend a 12-step program

Judge Elden Fox said if Lindsay flunks her drug and alcohol tests, she’ll go to jail for 30 days. She also cannot leave the state of California without court approval.

Additionally, two counts of being under the influence of cocaine were dismissed.

Outside of court Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said that Lindsay is “looking forward to beginning anew, and having a productive life and schedule.”

Jennifer Lopez won’t judge on the American Idol because “Her demands got out of hand”

“Her demands got out of hand,” a source said. “Fox had just had enough.” Sources also said that J. Lo. was not on the top of the list of possibly judges.

“J.Lo was definitely not the first choice,” a source told the PopEater website. “In fact, she wasn’t even the second or third choice. “It became clear that neither Elton nor Barry was ready to stop doing what they did best, writing and performing.

“Plus, they are international legends. They certainly don’t want their legacy to be [as] the guy that replaced Simon Cowell on Idol. On the other side, rumors say that Jessica Simpson was on the point to sign a deal for the show.

“You won’t find many folks that like Jessica’s movies or music, but who doesn’t love watching Jessica on TV,” a source said at the time. “She would be the perfect person to replace the void that Paula Abdul left. Jess is funny, caring and a total ditz. Just what the show needs to make America start caring again.

“[But] Benny dazzled the Idol producers in his pitch of J.Lo, and how the power of his client could put Idol back on top. “This was literally music to Idol’s ears after seeing their show drop over 20 percent in the ratings in just one year.

“All of this has left Jessica heartbroken, she has known for some time that she needs a Benny Medina-type manager to secure her the big opportunities when they come along, but how do you fire your own dad?”

Lindsay Lohan’s sentence “harsh and unfair”

Shawn Chapman Holley said that Lohan’s sentence is “far harsher than what others would have received under similar circumstances.” “The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments and court requirements,” Holley said in her statement.

“To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair.”

Moreover, regarding Lohan’s nail message, her attorney said: “The fact is, the words could barely be seen by the naked eye.

That a courtroom camera, purportedly there to accurately chronicle the proceedings, would use a telephoto lens to zoom in as it did to Ms. Lohan’s fingernail is a commentary on the entire issue,” Holley said.

Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley added that Lohan “is prepared to serve her jail time and comply with the court’s orders.”

Ellen DeGeneres says Cowell is not as she believed to be

Lately, Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi (KEHR’-uh dee-oh-GWAR’-dee) and many other guest judges kicked off the ninth season of the Fox singing competition in January.

Moreover, Ellen DeGeneres , the newest judge, begins her stint Tuesday night.

It seems that Ellen describes Cowell in a video posted on the show’s web site as “actually meaner than I thought. It’s hard to listen to him tell people things and for me not to go, `You poor thing!'”

The show host, DeGeneres said that no one has given her advice on judging :”they’re just letting me do what I want to do.”
