This time, Mel Gibson’s lawyers want to talk with Oksana’s ex-PR, Steve Jaffe – the man who spent hours talking with Grigorieva about what Mel allegedly did to her – and probably much more than just a simple Q&A session.
As TMZ found out, Steve Jaffe got subpoenaed to appear for a deposition during the last week of the month.
Problem is that Oksana Grigorieva’s lawyers hired Jaffe, and therefore many of the conversations he had with Oksana are protected by what’s called the “work product privilege” – part of the attorney-client privilege.
Mel’s lawyers want to hear what Oksana said and whether it conflicts with her other statements. However, sources close to Oksana said that Oksana’s lawyers are prepared for objection after objection due to the non-disclosure agreement between Steve Jeffe and Oksana Grigorieva.
So everyone expects that a dogfight is inevitable between lawyers for Oksana and Mel over what Jaffe can and cannot say.
Both teams are growing as time goes by. After Mel Gibson hired his own private investigators, James Spertus, a former federal prosecutor and an experienced trial attorney who specializes in civil and criminal litigation, jois Oksana’s team.
She also met with civil rights campaigner Lisa Bloom as well as with Mark Lane, who wrote the famous JFK conspiracy book Rush to Judgment.
Besides James Spertus, in her legal team are also lawyers Manley Freid and Marci Levine.
All this army for her claims that Mel Gibson hit her on January 6 at his Malibu mansion while she held their daughter, Lucia. Oksana is considering filing a possible civil complaint against Mel.
Gibson, on the other hand, has accused Oksana of trying to extort money from him after recording his rants over the phone.
One of her new lawyers believes that Oksana’s home is full of bugs. She thinks that Mel or the media has planted cameras or wiretapping devices in her house and Spertus doesn’t want to take chances and probably sugested to hire experts who can sweep Oksana’s home for bugs.
It appears that James Spertus is a nationally recognized expert on computers and other electronic gadgets, so he should have no problem with that task.
Oksana Grigorieva is irritated by the fact that Mel Gibson’s lawyers have insinuated that she would have spent Gibson’s money, during a trip to Moscow. Instead, Oksana claims that she had money for assisting victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
According to TMZ, Grigorieva’s finance situation is pretty low, Oksana claiming that Gibson hasn’t provided any money.
Gibson’s lawyers spent some time asking her about the trip in April, where she performed a charity concert to help victims of Chernobyl.
According to TMZ journalists, Oksana felt “harassed” and thinks that Gibson’s lawyers acted “nasty.”
Oksana insisted that she didn’t receive any money from the two concerts, sponsored by the Chernobyl’s Children’s Project International and the Grant A Life Foundation — which raised money for 50 kids in need of heart surgery.
Lawyers for Mel and Oksana worked out a financial deal for Oksana – she would get a total of $15 mil, which included child support, a house and other assets.
All she had to do is to give back the “evidence”, one source say. The “evidence” includes the Mel Gibson tapes, which Oksana’s lawyers played parts of for Mel’s lawyers.
A source tells TMZ: “The tapes loomed large … the word ‘tapes’ was never used in the agreement, but it was central to the deal.”
Mel never paid Oksana under the deal because the short form didn’t spell out the specifics of payment and Oksana refused to sign the longer agreement which contained the details.
But Oksana recorded the conversations without Mel’s knowledge. In California, if a person isn’t told their conversation is being recorded, it is not admissible in court.
There are exceptions – notably, if Oksana reasonably believed the conversation related to the commission of any felony of violence, she could make the recording without Mel’s permission.
However, Mel’s lawyers will use Oksana’s text messages to try and prove it was just a money grab, which would make the recordings inadmissible in both the custody case and any possible criminal case.
Sources connected with Oksana say if she was motivated by money she would not have rejected Mel’s $15 million settlement.

On the other hand, a source said: “Brandi has been nothing but nice to LeAnn. She let her kids go to Mexico with them, and is happy they like her. If they didn’t, she would be upset.”
Because lately there weren’t news about the triangle Rimes-Cibrian-Glanville, the possible future to be lawsuit is even more intriguing.
On the other side of the story, people say that LeAnn’s reaction came “after months of Brandi speaking about LeAnn in the press and telling lies. This is something she felt was necessary to protect herself.”
Also, rumors say that Brandi Glanville’s attorneys plan on responding to the letter in the coming days.
Radar Online announced Tuesday that Jesse James would had told Michelle “Bombshell” McGee – the woman who claims she had an affair with Jesse James – that he and Sandra Bullock have already separated, but that there will be a official announcement only after the filming for the latest feature film starring his wife will end.
