Lady Gaga’s meat dress – Grilled romance wannabe!

But now a full outfit made out of meat? Seriously? And – literally – above all, a meat-hat?

Wait a minute, even she was embarrassed feeling strange about asking Cher to hold her purse. The meat purse.

“I never thought I’d be asking Cher to hold my meat purse.” – Lady Gaga

And then comes the enlightenment:

“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian, because as you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth.”

“However, it has many interpretations. For me this evening, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

Oh, so that was the idea thing… Ok, who starts the fire? Who has the mustard?

Kanye West and Taylor Swift fought with songs at MTV VMA 2010

This year there were rumors that the host Chelsea Handler wants to reunite singers Kanye West and Taylor Swift. That didn’t happened.

Instead the two (separately) took the stage and performed personal, unreleased songs that, at least in the context of the show, pointedly addressed last year’s stage-crashing by West.

Taylor Swift performed first, singing a dark folk song, praising innocence: “It’s all right, just wait and see. Your string of lights is still bright to me. You’re still an innocent”

Kanye West closed the show with a song called “Runaway” whose refrain was: “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags, Let’s have a toast for the a——s. Let’s have a toast for the scumbags. Let’s have a toast for the jerk—s. Baby, I got a plan. Runaway fast as you can.”

Our verdict – Katy Perry was the hottest girl at MTV VMA 2010!

Katy Perry showed up without her husband-to-be Russell Brand, who she started dating at last year’s show, but he wasn’t far from her mind, or hands. She had his picture glued on to her nails.

Lady Gaga, who always outdoes herself in the fashionably weird department, heated the carpet up in a bold look from the late Alexander McQueen‘s final collection.

Ke$ha loves garbage chic and she kept that theme going at the MTV Video Music Awards with a dress made out of garbage bags. The “Tik Tok” singer claimed she got the bags at Home Depot and threw a little something together for the occasion.

MTV VMA 2010: Lady Gaga is the big winner!

Gaga shares the second place of artists who won most MTV Video Music Awards in a single night with Norwegian group A-HA – the big winners of 1986. British rocker Peter Gabriel set the record of nine competitive wins in 1987 for his innovative video “Sledgehammer.”

Most of Lady Gaga’s Moonman statuettes were for her video “Bad Romance,” a futuristic clip featuring plenty of skin-baring scenes and bizarre costumes.

I was so nervous for tonight that I would let my fans down,” she tearfully said as she accepted the final award for video of the year.

Famous for her outré fashion sense as for her musical sensibilities, Lady Gaga led the field with 13 nominations. In each of her three trips to the stage – the other awards were announced off-camera – she wore a different costume, including what looked like a large black trash bag.

MTV VMA 2010 won’t have any Kanye West – Taylor Swift moment again

We all remember the embarrassing moment at the MTV Video Music Awards 2009 when Kanye West infamously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.

After a year from that moment, Kanye decided to make public that he wrote a song for Taylor Swift in order to say sorry.

“I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it,” he Tweeted. “If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.”

There was a rumor, back in August, that at the 2010 MTV’s Video Music Awards, the host Chelsea Handler wants to reunite singers Kanye West and Taylor Swift but the event’s executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, insists there’s no chance of Swift and West doing anything.

He tells the Associated Press he feels West, who is billed to perform at the event in Los Angeles, won’t be interrupting anyone this time.

He says, “The beautiful thing about Kanye is he’s not one to repeat himself.”

Although nominated for a Best Female Video prize, Taylor Swift isn’t confirmed to attend the show.

Ignjatovic hopes the year-old onstage stand-off between West and Swift doesn’t hang over Sunday’s show: “I hope that we move on from it. It feels like it’s time. It was a year ago.”
