Paris Hilton restricted to enter Japan

She flew to Japan on business but she didn’t enter the country, she was detained in the airport for several hours and immigration authorities questioned her as she got off the plane.

In the meantime Paris stays at an airport hotel until authorities decides on this matter.

Moreover, Paris’ rep declared: “Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier.  Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn’t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.”

Even if things are not controlled by the heiress, she will fulfill her contract in Japan.

Paris Hilton admited she was guilty in order to avoid prison

Clark County District Attorney David Roger said on Friday that Paris Hilton will enter her guilty plea, Monday, and be sentenced to a year of probation.

The plea agreement also entails that she complete a drug abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and serve 200 hours of community service.

“Defendant agrees that an arrest for any charge, excluding minor traffic violations for which a citation is issued, shall result in the immediate termination of her probation and the execution of the suspended sentences,” the deal states.

Clark County D.A. David Roger said, “We fashioned a resolution which would give us complete control over her future. If she does not toe the line and stay out of trouble she will do one year in the Clark County Detention Center.”

“There are strict limits on her future conduct. We will not have to litigate whether she was convicted or if the charge was a major or minor offense.”

Now, just imagine Paris planting flowers on the sidewalks or somewhere, in counterweight of those 200 hours of community service. Wouldn’t that be a view!?

Book me a place in the first row! Bring the popcorn!! Alright, alright, I was being mean, but hey, it wasn’t me – charged with felony – saying the purse isn’t mine.

Police admits Paris Hilton was given special treatment due to her celebrity

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief, Jim Dixon, admits Hilton was given special treatment due to her celebrity.

“She was treated differently so I don’t have a disruption of my process here at the county jail,” He told The Las Vegas Review-Journal. “When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I’d have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I’d have disruptions.”

The goal, according to Jim Dixon, was to get Paris into a separate room from other inmates and eligible for release as quickly as possible.

“She was moved along out of the general area and put in isolation where nobody can actually get to her. That wouldn’t be fair to her. It wouldn’t be fair to my officers. It wouldn’t be fair to the other inmates… To put Paris Hilton in an open dorm area with male inmates and female inmates would shut down my process.”

Paris Hilton’s purse alibi canceled by Twitter

Paris claimed that the purse, in which some drugs were found, was not hers, but it was borrowed from a friend.

On the other hand, according to some recent photos posted by Paris on her Twitter account, the famous purse was indeed hers.

The Clark County District Attorney’s office said: “She’s being charged with possession, so it doesn’t matter if it’s hers or someone else’s,” Las Vegas police spokesman Officer Jay Rivera told E! News.

“She’s the person in possession of it, so it doesn’t matter.”

Not to mention that in the opinion of the criminal defense attorney Alec Rose, Paris does not have strong version of the drug possession.

“In my 17 years of practicing criminal defense law, I have never heard of the ‘it’s not my handbag defense’ actually working,” he said. “If it is in the handbag you are using at the time, that is a pretty hard one to explain.”

Is Paris Hilton banned from Las Vegas clubs?

“Because Vegas nightclubs are under so much scrutiny right now, I don’t know how welcome she would be,” says a club executive who has booked Hilton, 29, to host parties. “Considering she’s busted for cocaine, people might assume that she’s going to the club either to use coke or she’s already on coke, and no club wants to be associated with that.”

Moreover, even if Paris is schedule to be hosting several events in the near future, people and especially night clubs owners aren’t that happy to associate their names with Paris, due to recent charges.

For example, in Nevada liquor licenses are supervised by gambling regulators, and the consequences can be severe.

“A club would never be allowed to book Paris for an appearance right now,” says a former club executive who also has booked the heiress in the past. “A club would want to book her because of the press it would generate right now, but it would never happen because no one wants to jeopardize gaming licensing or liquor licensing.”

Besides, Paris would be entering a night club as any other person: “Her bag would be checked before entering the club.”

Paris Hilton is likely to avoid jail

Paris Hilton faces up to four years in a Nevada prison if convicted of the felony charge of possessing 0.8 grams of “powder cocaine” in a purse.

But the Los Angeles Times, quoting a legal expert, said Hilton was more likely to be sentenced to a diversion program if prosecutors are able to prove their case.

According to a police report, a LVMPD Traffic Officer pulled along Cy Waits and Paris Hilton’s Cadillac Escalade and “smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle”.

“As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from the purse and into my hand. I then immediately took the purse and dropped the bindle back on the top (waiting for another officer to witness the recovery),” writes the officer in the report.

Hilton told police she had borrowed the purse from a friend, and she thought the cocaine was gum.

The Los Angeles Times quoted Dmitry Gorin, a former Los Angeles County prosecutor and noted defense attorney, as saying that prosecutors would need to prove that it was Hilton’s purse and also have to overcome any doubts that the marijuana smell came from her vehicle.

Similar arrests are often made on the Las Vegas Strip, and most end up in some kind of diversion program unless the person has a lengthy prior record, he said.

Hilton has had dust-ups with the law, but she is not quite a hardened criminal. She spent three weeks in a Los Angeles jail in 2007 for violating probation on a reckless driving charge. In July, she was detained on suspicion of possessing marijuana in South Africa following a World Cup soccer match, but was released by police and not charged.

After her latest arrest, her lawyers issued a statement encouraging people “not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law.”

According to Reuters, there was no further statement from the lawyers on Monday, and court officials in Las Vegas also declined comment.

Paris Hilton, charged with felony, says the purse was not hers

When the officer looked over, Paris Hilton “started to put the window of the vehicle up”. he told the driver – Cy Waits – to pull his vehicle over.

The policeman asked for a LVMPD supervisor to be en route to his location because “a large gathering began to take place”.

Cy Waits failed a series of field sobriety tests and the officer said he was going to arrest Waits and “due to the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle” he didn’t feel “comfortable releasing the vehicle to the passenger in the car, Paris Hilton”

The supervisor called at the scene told Paris Hilton that she would need to exit the vehicle as he believed that the officer was going to search it for narcotics he had smelled.

Hilton told him “she was extremely embarrassed, due to all the people taking pictures of her, and she did not want to be seen by them.”

Paris then asked the supervisor if he would accompany her inside the Wynn Hotel, which they were in front of, “to prevent her from being molested by the growing crowd” and also asked to go somewhere private and out of the public’s eye because “she needed to use the bathroom badly”.

A Wynn Hotel security officer told them they can use the security room. Paris Hilton “was carrying a purse and a few other small items”.

After telling her to place her purse on the table “Hilton said she needed to put some lip balm on”

“As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from the purse and into my hand. I then immediately took the purse and dropped the bindle back on the top (waiting for another officer to witness the recovery),” writes the officer in the report.

In front of two other police officers he “then read her Miranda rights”. (“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say …”)

In her only defense Paris Hilton told “the purse is not hers, and that she had borrowed it from a friend.”

She also said “several cosmetics items inside the purse were not hers, but the $1,300 cash and the credit cards were hers.”

The LVMPD supervisor asked Hilton whose cocaine it was and she said “she had not seen it but now thought it was gum.”

At the end of the report, the officer concludes that “Due to the fact that the suspected cocaine fell from the purse Hilton was carrying, that the suspect cocaine was found near a broken prescription pill that Hilton admitted was hers, that she admitted that other items inside the purse were hers (including a package of Zig Zag wrappers, which are commonly used to roll and smoke marijuana)” … “I placed Hilton under the arrest for possession of a controlled substance cocaine.”

In the end, the suspect cocaine, was proven to be in fact … cocaine.

Later, Paris changed her story with friends, saying it is her purse but had been in the possession of a friend.

From the “it’s not my purse” to “I had no idea the cocaine was there” … it’s a long way …

Moreover, Paris is even telling friends, “It could be a setup. Everyone knows how against cocaine I am.” She also believes the cops were “star-struck and blew the whole thing way out of proportion.”

Paris Hilton arrested in Las Vegas for cocaine possession

According to police, Paris was a passenger in that vehicle that was pulled over outside the Wynn Hotel in Vegas, where her life-saving boyfriend, Cy Waits, is based.

The police noticed the car leaving a “smoke trail” and decided to pull over the vehicle for an inspection.

The driver was popped fr DUI (drugs, not alcohol) and when Paris Hilton was searched, police found her in possession of a controlled substance.

Police said that tests revealed the substance to be cocaine and decided to arrest the Hilton empire heiress.

Remember the World Cup arrest for pot possession? Well, it seems she didn’t learned any lesson from that episode.

In the end, she was later released on her own recognizance.
