Paris Hilton admited she was guilty in order to avoid prison

Clark County District Attorney David Roger said on Friday that Paris Hilton will enter her guilty plea, Monday, and be sentenced to a year of probation.

The plea agreement also entails that she complete a drug abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and serve 200 hours of community service.

“Defendant agrees that an arrest for any charge, excluding minor traffic violations for which a citation is issued, shall result in the immediate termination of her probation and the execution of the suspended sentences,” the deal states.

Clark County D.A. David Roger said, “We fashioned a resolution which would give us complete control over her future. If she does not toe the line and stay out of trouble she will do one year in the Clark County Detention Center.”

“There are strict limits on her future conduct. We will not have to litigate whether she was convicted or if the charge was a major or minor offense.”

Now, just imagine Paris planting flowers on the sidewalks or somewhere, in counterweight of those 200 hours of community service. Wouldn’t that be a view!?

Book me a place in the first row! Bring the popcorn!! Alright, alright, I was being mean, but hey, it wasn’t me – charged with felony – saying the purse isn’t mine.

Wesley Snipes sentenced to three years in prison, lost his legal appeal

The Court of Appeal in the U.S. city of Atlanta found that the sentence imposed by a court in Florida in 2008 against the American star, was correct.

Wesley Snipes’s lawyers argued, however, that this sentence was “unreasonable” and that the actor should have a rehearing, asking, the resettlement of the trial in New York.

According to the indictment, Snipes has not completed federal tax returns for the period 1999 – 2004 to avoid having to pay a sum amounting to 15 million dollars, and caused a deficit of $ 41 million to tax services.

Denzel Washington, double Oscar winner, sent a letter to Judge William Terrell Hodges of the District Court asking for Wesley Snipes to be exempt from imprisonment.

“Wesley is like a proud oak. Many of those who knew him enjoyed the fruits of his labor. I had been in his shadow and was protected by his presence,” said Denzel Washington.

Woody Harrelson, who knows Wesley Snipes more than two decades, said his good friend is “a true citizen of the world.”

“He fights for justice and fairness in everything he does and he is a great honor for me to call on my brother Wes,” said Woody Harrelson.

Also, several friends of the actor – actors, designers and even a television presenter – were demanding to the American justice the release of Wesley Snipes, but their request was refused.

The actor was acquitted of other charges, more serious, such as fraud and association to commit crimes.

Wesley Snipes’s lawyers argued that Douglas R. Rosie and Eddie Ray Kahn, financial advisors to their clients, who were also sentenced to prison, deceived the American actor, making him believe that there is no law making him pay that money.

But Robert O’Neill, the prosecutor who handled the case, said that Wesley Snipes was the client of a company “specialized in methods to defraud the income tax department, being targeted by police for several years.

Actor and producer Wesley Snipes is not on his first confrontation with justice. In September 2007, he was sentenced to pay the sum of 1.7 million dollars due to his former agent, who claimed breach of contract terms.

During the investigation conducted by the U.S. IRS, Wesley Snipes was arrested at the airport in Johannesburg, accused of attempted fraudulent border crossing using a forged South African passport. Wesley Snipes was deported shortly after, in the United States.

Music legend Phil Spector has a intriguing jail situation

“Phil has quite a mouth on him,” says longtime pal and defender Steven Escobar. “Not everyone understands his humor. He said the wrong thing to the wrong inmate in the yard.”

Afterwards, Spector wound up with a bruised nose, black eye and the loss of a couple of caps, according to Escobar.

“He mouthed off to a big guy, who punched him,” said another source close to Spector, who’s serving 19-to-life for fatally shooting actress Lana Clarkson in the mouth in 2003.

“At first, Phil said he fell down a flight of stairs,” says Escobar. “Later, he told family and friends what really happened.”

A spokesman for Spector’s wife, Rachelle, initially corroborated that there was an incident in November, saying : “There are still safety concerns. We don’t want the people who put him in this position to retaliate.” But later, Rachelle called to say, “Phil was not assaulted. Absolutely not”.

On the other side, a Corcoran spokesman, Lt. Stephen Smith, says: “We have no reports that he was involved in any altercations.”

Even so, Spector, 70, did visit a dentist outside of prison in December because “he had an abscess and issues with crowns and implants.”

While Mrs. Spector, 29, argues that “anyone who meets Phil loves him. He’s so freakin’ funny. He’s an idol to the other inmates. They look out for him. They also know he was wrongfully convicted”, Spector himself complains about his fellow prisoners in a letter to Escobar last August: “These lowlife scumbag gangsters kill you here for a 39-cent bag of soup!”
