Kanye West and Taylor Swift fought with songs at MTV VMA 2010

This year there were rumors that the host Chelsea Handler wants to reunite singers Kanye West and Taylor Swift. That didn’t happened.

Instead the two (separately) took the stage and performed personal, unreleased songs that, at least in the context of the show, pointedly addressed last year’s stage-crashing by West.

Taylor Swift performed first, singing a dark folk song, praising innocence: “It’s all right, just wait and see. Your string of lights is still bright to me. You’re still an innocent”

Kanye West closed the show with a song called “Runaway” whose refrain was: “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags, Let’s have a toast for the a——s. Let’s have a toast for the scumbags. Let’s have a toast for the jerk—s. Baby, I got a plan. Runaway fast as you can.”

MTV VMA 2010 won’t have any Kanye West – Taylor Swift moment again

We all remember the embarrassing moment at the MTV Video Music Awards 2009 when Kanye West infamously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.

After a year from that moment, Kanye decided to make public that he wrote a song for Taylor Swift in order to say sorry.

“I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it,” he Tweeted. “If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.”

There was a rumor, back in August, that at the 2010 MTV’s Video Music Awards, the host Chelsea Handler wants to reunite singers Kanye West and Taylor Swift but the event’s executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, insists there’s no chance of Swift and West doing anything.

He tells the Associated Press he feels West, who is billed to perform at the event in Los Angeles, won’t be interrupting anyone this time.

He says, “The beautiful thing about Kanye is he’s not one to repeat himself.”

Although nominated for a Best Female Video prize, Taylor Swift isn’t confirmed to attend the show.

Ignjatovic hopes the year-old onstage stand-off between West and Swift doesn’t hang over Sunday’s show: “I hope that we move on from it. It feels like it’s time. It was a year ago.”

Kanye West wrote a song for Taylor Swift as an apology

After a year from that moment, Kanye decided to make public that he wrote a song for Taylor Swift in order to say sorry.

“I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it,” he Tweeted. “If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.”

As for the teenage singer, she didn’t make any statement so far, but if that doesn’t happen, then Kanye will have no other choice to show his apologies in front of her.

In order to show her deep regrets of what he’s done last year he tweeted 70 times the expression: “I’m sorry, Taylor”.

“She deserves my apology more than anyone,” he added. “She had nothing to do with my issues with award shows. She had no idea what hit her. She just lil girl with dreams like the rest of use.”

Taylor Swift is dating Toby Hemingway

Taylor, 20, and Toby will appear in the singer’s new music video called “Mine”. Besides, the two will be together tonight for Swift’s live CMT, informs New York Post.

“They’ve been spending lots of time together,” a source said. When Taylor’s rep was asked about this new rumor, the answer was: “We don’t comment on Taylor’s personal life.”

Among previously love relations that Taylor had we wrote about Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner. Although the singer said she’s too busy to have a love relations, rumors say she has one now.

“There’s a lot to distract me from dating,” she said back in April. “I don’t really sit around and wallow in being alone. It’s in my comfort zone, being single. “I feel that a lot happens to you when you’re not looking for it, so I’m not actively looking. I don’t have a problem with being single.

“All my friends in high school would always go from boyfriend to boyfriend and they were never alone because they hated being alone. I never want to be that way.”

Ryan Kwanten says Taylor Swift would fit in True Blood

One of the questions that he had to answer in an interview at Producers Guild Awards, was about young singer Taylor Swift and the possibility to perform in True Blood.

“I’d like Taylor [to guest star on True Blood]. That’d be kind of cool… I get the feeling that she likes to break down boundaries. She set a bunch of records, so why not get into the acting world and see if she can’t tackle that, too?”

Taking into consideration that Taylor will be on of the 97 stars to perform on Valentine’s Day, she surly fit in True Blood as a vampire and the role of her prey to be performed by Kanye West. Funny, don’t you think?

Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now hits the charts

The trio’s new song Need You Now has already claimed almost one-third the sales total of which means they had sold 1,453,000 million copies.

It seems that their debut album sold 43,000 in its opening week to debut at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in May 2008.

Since Taylor Swift’s Fearless debuted at No. 1 in November 2008 with sales of 592,000 no other song achieve this performance than song Need You Now which racked up the best first-week sales.

Moreover, song Need You Now knocks Fearless from the top spot of the country albums chart which makes Swift slips to second place while Lady Antebellum claims the No. 3 position.

Need You Now positioned as a No. 1 for five weeks on the country singles chart while in Billboard’s pop songs chart the song climbed from No. 37 to No. 30 on this week.

Lady Antebellum’s latest song called “American Honey” reached No. 17 on the country songs chart after being released to radio seven weeks ago.

Taylor Swift won the Grammy for album of the year and defeated Beyoncé

The atmosphere was unprecedented due to fact that the winner for album of the year was Swift and record of the year winner was Kings of Leon.

Swift, 20, replied, “That’s awesome, and I didn’t know that before right now.”

The young singer, Swift, declared : “Nashville is my favorite place in the world. To see it recognized in such a beautiful way tonight at the Grammys just makes me so, so happy.”

Taylor never expected to win the award for album of the year with “Fearless”: “I did not see it coming tonight,” she said. “This was a beautiful, beautiful surprise.”

In what concerns her love for country music, and her dislike of labels across musical genres Taylor said: “I grew up in Pennsylvania, and my friends didn’t listen to country music, but I did, because I could identify with these stories so well”.

She added: “I think that when you’re making music, it’s the healthiest thing to do to remove titles or stereotypes from what you’re trying to do. It’s not boys versus girls. It’s not country versus rap. It’s not anything that you don’t make it.”

Beyoncé duels Taylor Swift for a Grammy

Beyoncé/Tumblr

Beyoncé has 10 nominations going into Sunday’s extravaganza at the Staples Center, just ahead of the precocious 20-year-old Swift, who has eight.

Moreover, super star Beyoncé has nominations in the coveted record of the year and album of the year categories, for her single “Halo” and her chart-topping double-album “I Am … Sasha Fierce.” The former “Destiny’s Child” singer is also nominated in the song of the year category.

The singer has to face competition in the main categories not only with Swift, but also with eccentric pop star Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas, who all have nominations in the best album, record and song categories.

On the other hand, Swift, who enjoyed success last year at the American Music Awards and Country Music Awards, has rocketed to fame over the past two years.

According to a source, Swift is considered to be the top-selling digital artist in music history with over 24.3 digital tracks to date.

Grammy chief Neil Portnow has praised Swift as a “phenomenon in entertainment.” “She crosses so many genres and generations. She’s really struck a chord with people because her music is so honest,” Portnow said.

Nevertheless, there will be a tribute to Michael’s Jackson career that seems to include a 3-D film clip made before his death as well as performances from Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson and Usher. Jackson will also be honored with a lifetime achievement award during the show.

In terms of the record of the year, the battle will be between Beyonce’s “Halo” and Black Eyed Peas’s pop track “I Gotta Feeling”, the Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody,” Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” and Swift’s “You Belong with Me.”

On the other hand, the nominees for song of the year, awarded to the songwriters, are Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” Maxwell’s “Pretty Wings,” Beyonce’s No.1 single “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It),” Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and Swift’s “You Belong with Me.

Consequently, the best rock album nominees are AC/DC’s “Black Ice,” “Live From Madison Square Garden” by Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood, “21st Century Breakdown” by Green Day, “Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King” by the Dave Matthews Band and “No Line on the Horizon” by U2.

The best new artist category features the Zac Brown Band, Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups and The Ting Tings.
